Blue Creek Policies
- A confirmed reservation will hold your vessel for up to 30 minutes after your scheduled departure time, unless prior arrangements are made with Blue Creek Boat Rentals, after which it will be considered a "No Show," and the entire reservation fee will be forfeited.
- Please arrive for your rental 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to ensure the entire rental time is allotted. Rental times cannot be extended due to late arrivals.
- Renters and any additional drivers must be at least 25 years old with a valid boater’s license. Alabama state law requires that anyone operating a water vessel has a vessel license. “Nonresidents may operate a vessel upon the waters of this state only after obtaining a valid boater safety certification or vessel operator's certification issued in his or her home state or country, or after obtaining a Nonresident Alabama Boater Safety Certification upon examination and certification under the same terms and conditions as Alabama residents." If the boater's license is not presented upon arrival, you will not be refunded for your rental. You may upload a copy of your license via the link of your confirmation email before arrival.
- Pets, open flames, grills, or cooking equipment of any type is prohibited on all rental boats. If you bring a pet, they are not allowed to get onto the boat, and you will not receive a refund.
- Each rental boat leaves the dock with a full tank of fuel. Once the boat is returned and refueled, the renter is responsible for the amount of fuel consumed during the rental time. If the boat is brought back unfueled, the cost of gas will be charged to the card on file, along with a $25 fee.
- FULL-DAY RESERVATION: Changes to existing full-day reservations, rental dates, or times must be made at least 48 hours before the reservation date and cannot be processed online. Please call (334) 392-0867 to make these arrangements. With the purchase of Trip Protection, changes to existing reservations, rental dates, or times must be made at least 12 hours before the reservation date and cannot be processed online. Please call (256) 364-1580 to make these arrangements.
- MULTI-DAY RESERVATION: Changes to existing multi-day reservations, rental dates, or times must be made at least 72 hours before the reservation date and cannot be processed online. Please call (256) 364-1580 to make these arrangements. With the purchase of Trip Protection, changes to existing reservations, rental dates, or times must be made at least 24 hours before the reservation date and cannot be processed online. Please call (256) 364-1580 to make these arrangements. Any cancellation made more than 72 hours before the reservation date will result in no cancellation fee. Cancellations due to NO SHOWS will be charged 100% of the deposit.

- If the following conditions exist on the water at the time of a reservation pickup: lightning, tornado warnings, high wind advisories, or any condition that Blue Creek Boat Rentals considers unsafe boating conditions, then the reservation fees can be turned into a weather credit. Weather credits can only be given in person on the day of the rental and are based on actual weather conditions on the water at the time of the rental pickup, not future weather forecasts.

Yes. Anyone in your group may drive the boat as long as they are at least 25 years old, have a valid boater’s license on file with Blue Creek Rentals, and have taken a boater safety course.
Yes. There is no open container law, but remember, the DUI laws are even more strict for boat drivers than they are on the road.
Yes, the boats are supplied with all required safety equipment.
No, they are available for purchase in marina shops adjacent to the check-in.
By Law, children eight years old or younger are required to wear a life jacket at all times. Also, Blue Creek Boat Rentals requires any guest who is mentally or physically impaired, elderly, medicated, intoxicated or those who are not strong swimmers to wear a life jacket at all times.
You are allowed to go anywhere within Lake Martin but no farther than River North Marina. Click here to view a map of the boundary line.
Our pontoon boats are equipped with bimini tops covering part of the boat.
The maximum number of passengers is 12 for the Barletta Tritoons and 11 for the Standard Pontoon. Each boat type has a specific maximum passenger and a weight capacity that may not be exceeded at any time. Every person onboard counts toward the total capacity, and children count the same as adults, regardless of their weight or size. Please refer to the Rental information page to view the passenger & weight capacity for each boat.
We offer full-day rentals (up to 8.5 hours) per day. There is a specific departure & return time that must be followed when making a reservation. The rental pickup intervals begin at 9 AM and continue every 30 minutes until 10:30 AM. When you schedule your reservation, you select your preferred time slot. We ask that you come at your designated pickup time to ensure a smooth start to your time on the water. Note that a confirmed reservation will hold your vessel for up to 30 minutes after your scheduled departure time, unless prior arrangements are made with Blue Creek Boat Rentals, after which it will be considered a “No Show,” and the entire reservation fee will be forfeited. While there are varying pickup times, all boats must be returned by 4:30 pm CT on the last day of the reservation. The rental rates are flat, and the variation in pickup time is strictly for the convenience of the customer. If you are renting for multiple days, you may keep the boat until your return date at 4:30 pm CT.
Yes. Our boats are equipped with AM/FM stereos. Also, all our boats are equipped with AUX and Bluetooth inputs.
